im sure its great but..

you say that the 'A and D' keys work like the arrow keys, but they dont. and while its not really a reflection on your game, my arrow keys dont work right now, and so without the A and D keys i cant play. However, based on your first game and other reviews, im sure id give it a ten if i was actually able to play. so please get the alternate controls in there and ill be back!

Sorry for mispelling that, thank you!

a decent tribute

this game was ok, but considering the idea, graphics, and animations were all someone elses, the only thing i can judge is the programming, which was pretty lacking. the gravity seemed a little too light, making it easier than i should have been, and the elements were pretty messed up. first of all, picking up an element required slowing down and hitting it dead-on, which could be difficult or annoying. second, elements couldnt combine, like in the actual game. if i picked up a red, then a green, id just end up small, as if the red never happened. also, im not sure you got all the elements right, like red turning you black, or yellow... well, doing nothing. i might be wrong about that, though youd probly know better than me, assuming youve played ball revamped recently. really, the only highlight of this game was that it was based on a great game, and your contributions dont seem to have added much of any value to it.

sorry to be so harsh, and i know youre 11, but your age really shouldnt affect how people rate the quality of your flash. im just giving constructive criticism, which believe me is a lot better than most of the response youre gonna get on newgrounds.

id like to see what you could do making something original. even if youre a programmer, not an artist, you could probly find someone to team up with so you can use original graphics but still be a programmer. in fact, im gonna go check out your other stuff right now and see how you do with non-tributes.

Pu-lease, this is a tribute
My computer is laggy, so i tried my best to done this.
And when i export the .swf file, i need to wait 5 minutes!
So, i cant test it!

Wow, nice job, definitely a challenge

This is a great game. i love this type of game, and plus you gave it a nice simplicity and style thats uncommon among games like this. after hours and hours (literally at least 4) i finally beat it. and while i desperately hoped you would give up the URL, i finally got it anyway, i would like to do something i normally never do, by giving struggling players a few hints. if you the author would rather i not, then feel free to delete this. otherwise, here ya go:
-the code is used twice
-the giant screw is used (height does kinda matter)
-the fetus is only used once
-you need to use more than the enertron on a pod to complete the game
-putting the white "kettle" thing on the faucet fills it with water

note: im still not quite sure what makes the robot comes out of its orb.

oh and a note for the creator: there are quite a few glitches/mistakes in here that mostly are just annoying, but sometimes screw the game up:
-sometimes if you use the enertron, then change screens and come back, one of the items used in it is gone.
-after using the screwdriver, clicking it anywhere on the screen where it was used repeats the action from when you used it.
-trying to use an item on the right place at the wrong time puts the item there, but without changing its picture.
-there are others, just see if you can clean em up. but otherwise, excellent game, nice job.

Good Job, and thanks for reporting those bugs. I tried to test for bugs as much as possible before I released it, but I guess a couple will always sneak through undetected into the final versions.

finally!

god, im so glad to finally see a submission to the rock out contest that is truly taking an original spin on it (besides perhaps spectrum, but... lets face it, that game's only plus side is the nice visuals). great job, you took the basic idea of a shooter, and really made it great. i like that it still relates to rhythm, but at the same time doesnt rely on it. its a great game, some great powerups really keep it interesting, the only possible note i could give you for improvement is that the powerups are hard to remember. maybe when the powerup is picked up, some reminder message could pop up in really big letters over the screen. especially with the ram one, i kept forgetting what it was so i wasnt sure what to do. oh, and i just gotta note that it was really smart of you to make all the records explode when you die, cuz otherwise youd just get swarmed. and last of all, just wanna mention that i really liked the look of the guitar with its neck bendy like that. it definitely bypassed the stiff, rigid look that would have resulted otherwise.

overall, awesome, i think this definitely deserves to be in the top ten for the contest.

LesPaulPlayer responds:

thanks very much for your positive and in depth review. I'll add in a little reminder for the powerups soon.

love it. nice job.

its clean, interesting, beautiful, challenging and all around an awesome game. i love it, and you should make more. make ten more. youve just got so much creativity in creating these levels, that i cant wait to see more of the same (and of course, with new stuff all over the place)

Oddgoo responds:

I appreciate this very much
