The new best thing!!

Ok, not exactly 'new' because this came out in february, but i discovered Cuboy through episode 2, so bear with me.

This series is absolutely amazing. Genius in the way that it is classicly quirky and yet uses a type of humor never seen before - that sort of thing where things just oddly appear, dissapear, happen, etc. like the high five thing, or the the giant toilet. that sort of stuff is just absolutely brilliant. You are a master, please never, ever stop making these. Oh and sorry to be reviewing the second one in my review of the first, but one of the additions that i love in the second one is the light-up cube thing, with the smiley face in the middle. just a little something that made me smile.

i just wanna know: what did you do to make this? like is there some specific cube-a-rific program you used to make this, or is the entire style just a very thoroughly consistent way of drawing and presenting your cartoons?

EdibleCastle responds:

i have a wireframe of a cube in my library... i just duplicate and manipulate that for each new prop.

wow way to go

this looked and felt exactly like a collab. its amazing that this is all you. i guess in i way you did a collab with yourself in different stages of your life. its was really great, and while a couple things at the beginning (the digdugs, for example - i think thats what theyre called) didnt really need to be in there, it was still overall amazingly done, and i still felt it deserved a 5! youre going far man, if this is what you consider average.

RobbieSkater responds:

WOW. Im Really Really glad you left this review. Your Comments were very much appriciated. It makes me feel all warm inside. <3 Thanks a bunch.

haha motherfuckingbrilliant!

wow man, that was great. hilarious, all the way through. cant say your a great artist, or a great animator, but god DAMN your a good script writer. if you teamed up with a skilled animator (or just put more effort into your animations), and kept writing great scripts, youd be hitting the front page with every entry. also saw your other two flashes, and i thought "story of my life" was pretty great, although not as good as this one. the murdering apples one, not so great. but still, youve got quite a skill, keep it up. and id love to see more of flame.

FlameAlchemy responds:

Thanks dude, from all the reviews this is the one I have liked the most by far of my 3 movies... I´m considering teaming with a good animator...
Flames is a self portrait of me (LOL) and he WILL have more adventures soon
my Apple Murdering flash is not so great (I admit it) but it was made just to get rid of the god damn apples!! (that you should already know I hate)
Anyway... Thanks sooo much for your review. =D
Thank you soooo much (I thank you as much as I hate apples).

Flames says: Hi!

wow surprisingly great

when i first saw this, what i saw was: no blood, madness tribute, and for some reason turned in 4 months early. didnt expect much, and i still think its strange that you submitted it so ridiculously early. maybe couldve kept working and made it a two-part movie? i dunno. but gotta say i did really love it. the no blood was a bit of a let down, but as i was watching, i realized that when you stopped relying on blood, you put more work into the moves, the style, and overall the quality of the fights. i like how you put your own spin on hank, by changing his fighting style. instead of the usual hank, who always multitasks by fighting 3 or 4 people at once, but does it all very smoothly and calculatedly, the way you pulled it off here is a a hank which does each thing very swiftly, takes care of it, moves on, so its just one after the other, very quickly. he wastes no time, and the effect it has is very involving. i want to watch everything he does so i dont miss anything, and it really got me into it. and the stuff he did was just great. i loved seeing him easily mount an enemy's head on the end of his club, but i just wish that he would have used that somehow, maybe kept fighting, hitting people with the head on the end. there were some great moves in there, none of which i can remember right now, but i loved them. overall, great job, you really pulled off a bloodless madness. but still, 4 months early? anyway, loved it, nice job.

JonBro responds:

Thanks!
I'm glad some people aren't overly obsessive over blood.

alright, here's a real review

after noticing the dumb first review you got, i took pity and decided you needed an actual review. so, heres what i think:

sprite movies overall, are pretty over done and dull. and sorry to say, yours is no exception. when doing a sprite music video, if you just take a literal interpretatoin of the lyrics (like going through an open door) then its just gonna be boring. what id like to see is you shwoing mario going on some interesting journey or something. music videos can have plots too. and in general id advise against sprite movies, but if you wanna stick with it, then jsut try to make it more involving. of course it was a good song though.

honestly, i blammed this. but id like to see some improvement from you in the future.

wierdtails responds:

(Sigh...) and I like sprite videos so much... how could this happen?

wow nicely done

consider it amazing that i liked this movie, because im not at all a fan of naruto. in fact, it kinda bugs me. but the way you did this, with the great animation, and just completely ridiculous versions of naruto characters, i thought it was pretty damn funny. definitely a 4/5, very well done.

NN-Meg responds:

hooray!!! if only you could of read the comics X3

haha pretty funny

gotta say that script got pretty good part way through. Overall, the only reason i enjoyed this was for the script. the animation... was just totally lazy. In fact, it was just drawings being moved around. the animation consisted of mouths, and in the yeti's case, eyes. but as for the script, the two parts i enjoyed were the "meeting" scene (with no chalk), and the credits. Otherwise, the script was pretty boring. and btw, if i ever, EVER, see ONE MORE parody of that kill bill "alarm" thing, i will quite honestly go find the person responsible and pull a Milton. and im sure you know what that means, being the office space fans you are. and the credits, it was funny cuz just at the point where i looked at "credits" on the screen and started to wonder "does this really qualify as credits anymore?", it changed to "credits?", and that made me laugh. the rest of the credits were funny too, just cuz you guys are kinda ridiculous (in a good way). so overall, bad animation, good scripting sometimes, no great achievement, but the drawings were nice, and with some more effort and continuingly funny script, this could get pretty good. keep it up.

FB-Studios responds:

Thank you for actually taking the time to post a real review. We don't get that much actual constructive criticism, just "lol, funny" or "wtf taht waz gai" as for the animation quality, we had time constraints... or at least we did until they changed their minds on us! we showed it to most of the school anyways, by ways of planting dvds at proper teachers' rooms and letting them show it on their projectors (most of the classrooms have fancy-pants projectors, which makes it easier) and putting it up on the school net ...this is getting kinda off topic... damnit, I did it again!

haha nice

wow thought it would suck... a LOT... but it actually made me laugh. the "and get a free ipod!" line was great. you kick the KK(K)'s ass!

SalmonBerryClock responds:

Somebody actually understands!
