ugh really?

at a score of 4.30, i was really expecting something good. but a bunch of sprites, coupled with some good jokes and some bad ones, really isnt my idea of a good flash. i get that this is all a reference to super smash bros bros brawl, and some of the jokes were pretty funny, but i really cant give you much credit for animation since it was all sprites. all quantity, not quality.

haha nice

story of my life.

very artsy and colorful considering the subject, i really enjoyed it. nice job man.

express yourself!

damn right.

i love you, kid.

you need internet celebrity status, now.

liked it, except audio

i thought it was ok, kinda funny but not hilarious. but as you know the audio was bad. what it sounded like to me was that the 'narrator' voice was so deep it was barely audible and not understandable at all. i think you just overdid it with the deep, dramatic voice, and it become muttled. and the 'taxi!' voice was just way too high and squeaky, it didnt sound like a real person at all, which definitely took away from the idea that people were getting run over (and more) by the taxi, since the obnoxious voice made you kinda want them to get hit.

Hmm, okay, maybe you're right. Thanks for writing this review.

This is what most flash should aspire to be

Amazing i love it. Delicious artwork, a very strangely put together story, and lots of awesome and fun. its perfect. The best thing you could do with this is make a series, but the way the series would work is that every episode would be done in the same way, with some random stories sort of mixed together in a creative and interesting fashion. You should be famous of something.

very nice, just one question.

i really like this style, I think someone hit it right on earlier with the Chuck Jones comment. simple humor, but absolutely great to watch. Me encanta! and if you dont speak spanish, well it just down right kicks some serious ass. I wasnt expecting the ending at all, but it was absolutely perfect. Plus that added little random laughing guy at the end cracked me up. only comment would be to clean it up a little, many of the frames had these abnormally thick borders around the characters that looked half stylized, and half just kinda messy. But still, loved it. And i especially loved that you put some effort into the credits, i actually really enjoyed watching them. theyre so musical! oh and that question i mentioned... why am i in the credits? 'Special thanks to: ...Max Porter...'. its cool and all but... do i know you?

ActiveObjectX responds:

Ah, sorry, it's referring to a different Max Porter. The Max Porter in that I refer to in the credits helped with actually making the movie so...it's not you :(

...nothing like taking 2 years to answer a fans question!

Pretty nice, but not quite what i expected.

Overall, nice job, 5'd for sure. Just not quite as interesting as i'd hoped. when i think black and white, i expect the artists to use the style in some way that wouldnt work, or at least not as well, as with color. For example, one of my favorite parts that i wish had been longer was an an unnamed segment in the middle (maybe nicholas deary?) that had white kinda flood in on the black, and visa versa. thats something true to the black and white style. also thought nicholas did a nice job with similar stuff. on the other hand, one of my least favorites was the part with one stick saying to another "n00b!" Seriously, man. original? no, not really. that the kinda thing we see a million times a day without the black and white theme, why would you feel the need to stick that in a black and white collab? another part i like though, was with the two suited guys fighting. crazy-angled fight scenes are something i would definitely attribute to black and white, so props for that, kartune hustla. also liked k.h.'s stuff near the beginning. but the best stuff was probly bitmap pirate at the very beginning, loved the fast-moving, unconnected style, that still went to the beat of the music. it kinda seemed to explore what different stuff you might do with black and white, and i like that, so nice job.

still, like i said before, it was great overall, i just hope people like mr.glad (btw, putting your own name into your flash - besides in the top left corner - is seriously annoying and kinda tacky. not to mention most of your stuff was too slow and not very exciting-- just being honest!) can bring more to the collab next time, if they return.

The new best thing!!

Ok, not exactly 'new' because this came out in february, but i discovered Cuboy through episode 2, so bear with me.

This series is absolutely amazing. Genius in the way that it is classicly quirky and yet uses a type of humor never seen before - that sort of thing where things just oddly appear, dissapear, happen, etc. like the high five thing, or the the giant toilet. that sort of stuff is just absolutely brilliant. You are a master, please never, ever stop making these. Oh and sorry to be reviewing the second one in my review of the first, but one of the additions that i love in the second one is the light-up cube thing, with the smiley face in the middle. just a little something that made me smile.

i just wanna know: what did you do to make this? like is there some specific cube-a-rific program you used to make this, or is the entire style just a very thoroughly consistent way of drawing and presenting your cartoons?

EdibleCastle responds:

i have a wireframe of a cube in my library... i just duplicate and manipulate that for each new prop.

wow, i really loved it.

i thought this was great, very sickeningly original, but in a way that i found really entertaining to watch. along the line of saladfingers, its just so bizarre its lovable. not perfect, of course. with mostly nicely done drawings and animations, there were a couple exceptions, like it looks like you got lazy while animating the last bit with the grandpa clown getting out of bed and joining meatclown. and the walking animation with the legs of meatclown couldve been a lot better, and perhaps couldve added to the rhythm-theme of the piece. and while i dont normally enjoy humping and vomiting in flashes, this didnt quite go to the extent of disgust. id love to see more, with meatclown doing more strange inexplicable things and generally disturbing the peace.

oh man, and i was about to vote 5.

you really have something good going here. front page material, and i could see it easily going in the 'experimental' or 'music videos' sections. but you gotta finish it!
